Range Rules

Ammonoosuc Valley Fish & Game Club Range Rules

  1. The gate must be left open while the range is occupied. Last person out must lock the gate behind them being sure the lock is under the rubber flap.
  2. Membership cards must be carried at all times and present it when asked.
    • Members may bring a guest, more than one requires you contact the President.
  3. Vehicles may be driven down range for placing targets
    • HOWEVER no vehicles are allowed down range between March 1st and June 1st.
    • Absolutely no parking of vehicles on the Range
  4. You may shoot 8 am daily until 1/2 hour before sunset.
  5. Safety..Safety..Safety Always keep your muzzle pointed in a safe direction and when not using the firearm the action is open, unloaded, holstered or cased or in the rack.
    • Hearing and eye protection is mandatory when the range is in use.
  6. NO FULL AUTO FIREARMS.
  7. Use designated benches for 15, 25, 50, 100 and 200 yard target boards.
    • Handgun shooters may place a portable target board so the handgun rounds impact the 15-yard berm/target board.
    • The 25 yard berm is for sighting in rifles only.
    • Only handgun calibers are allowed at the 15-yard berm.
    • Shotgun shooters use the portable target board and place so the impact will be towards the 50-yard berm.
    • No hand thrown clays are allowed
    • Only paper targets are to be used
    • No items are to be placed on the berms or targets hung in such a manner that the impacts will be into the wood framework supports.
  8. All Shooters must stay behind the firing line. Don’t fire from in front of the benches.
  9. Be courteous to other shooters and always coordinate target changes. Clean up after yourself, do not leave your targets on the backboards, police your brass and place into buckets.
  10. NO alcohol or drugs of any kind are allowed.
  11. In case of emergency there is an outside telephone on the club House for calling 911. The reporting address is on a sign next to the phone. A first aid kit is in the hallway to the latrines.
  12. Please check the website, bulletin boards at Trap Building and Club House for Range Closings and events that are scheduled.
  13. Last person to leave must close and lock the gate ensuring the lock is under the rubber flap.

Range rules for members to sign and date are part of the Membership Packet.

If a New Member the Range Rules will be part of the New Member Orientation and will be signed by the Club Member conducting the New Member Orientation.
