4-H Shooting Sports

Ammonoosuc Valley Fish & Game Club is glad to host the Mountaineers 4-H Club!!

For youth ages 8 to 18 interested in Shooting Sports – Archery and Rifle

The club is currently shooting archery, indoors in Littleton. NH – Contact Shannon Mackay at Shannon.MacKay@unh.edu for more info.
The club hopes to start shooting rifle at the Outdoor Range at AVFG in the coming spring/summer.
The schedule needs to be worked out and Adult Volunteers trained to enable us to do this.

New Hampshire 4-H Shooting Sports offers four disciplines: archery, rifle, pistol, and shotgun.  Each discipline teaches safety, concentration, self-discipline, self-confidence, goal setting, and decision making as the youth learn basic skills and builds toward more advanced activities.

4-H Shooting Sports is a hands-on project for youth and adult audiences. The curriculum is designed to assist young people in personal development, establish a personal environmental ethic and explore life-long vocational and leisure activities. Participants will be able to enjoy many opportunities from the local level to national events.

Adult Volunteers Needed!

Contact Shannon.MacKay@unh.edu and let her know you would like to be a volunteer. That’s where we start ..as we need more volunteers so we have enough people to sustain our program!!

Volunteers wishing to support youth in this program, must first be a screened 4-H volunteer and obtain their National 4-H Shooting Sports Primer Certification before taking the Instructor Training courses to earn certification in a discipline. After you been certified you will have access to the instructor training schedule in ZSuite.

The National 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Primer is available through ZSuite at 4-hshootingsportscollege.com.
Volunteers new to the shooting sports program must take and complete the online certification before they attend in-person discipline training. The primer is a one-time training and there is a cost of $20. (A limited number of scholarships are available to individuals unable to payContact Shannon MacKay for information. Individuals can also check with their county’s 4-H program manager regarding available funds for this training. Alternatively, individuals can pay for the course themselves by going to Clover Academy >4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Primer >Add to Cart >Checkout >Enter Card information >Submit Payment.)
