Hunter Ed Field Day Course Pictures and Graduating Class

We had a cold wet day for the first Hunter Ed Field Day course at AVFG on April 11th, 2026. The class had 5 guy and 3 gals.
The sun was out for a little while while we set up for the day, then clouds moved in, it rained ..we had hail and wind…lots of wind.

Early in the Day – sun but dark clouds moving in.

Decoys for the Shoot – Don’t Shoot exercise.

Firearms ready in our new enclosed area.

The wind was so strong that we were not able to do the live fire exercise. The targets were being blown over before the instructors could get back behind the firing line.
We will be making modifications to the targets to avoid this issue in the future.

The Class and some of the instructors for the April 11th, 2026 Field Day

The Fish and Game C.O. – Nick took a lot of questions from the group.

Mr. Puffer did the Ethics portion of the class. Lots of questions and really good answers from the participants!

Waiting for the participants to arrive.

Classroom set up and ready

Supplies for the live fire event all set.

This class had a 92% grade average.
All in all, it went very well.
We are looking forward to Saturday April 18th and the second Field Day and hoping for warmer and less windy weather.
